My brother is betting like crazy. Really crazy. He was my best friend until six months ago when he started playing a lot of poker with his team and now he ignores me except to ask me for money. Last night I saw him coming out of my room with a funny look on his face. This morning I noticed that my birthday money is gone. I don't want to worry my mom. Help.

Tell your mom! This is very serious and no time to keep a secret. Tell your brohter that you love him and are very worried about how much he gambles. If there is anyone else - your dad, an uncle - tell them just as you have told me. If your brother is addicted to gambling - trust me 'cuz I know -it will only get worse. You can help your mom, your brother and yourself by finding websites for her about gambling addiction so that she can learn about the danger signs of a gambling problem. some good ones are www.cfcg.org, www.thewager.org and www.nati.org. Let me know what happens.
